Data Vault - User already exists error

I am receiving an error when trying to assign a new payment plan to a Data Vault client which reads “User with this name already exists. Please choose another name.” What is causing this?

When creating a recurring payment plan, the merchant user is give then option to automatically create a Client Service Portal (CSP) or self-service portal for their customers to view payments, plans, payment methods etc. This can be enabled by selecting the following check box under Plan Settings:

However, if this is selected note that each Data Vault client must have a unique email address assigned to their profile. To avoid this error please either do not select the box to enable this setting under Plan Settings, or be sure to use a unique email address for each Data Vault Client.
