System Configuration - Load Balancer

The Load Balancer enables merchants to direct the flow of transactions to more than one processor. Some common reasons for using a Load Balancer are: to route transactions based on the consumer’s home currency, to not exceed a processor’s mandated account limit, to take advantage of a better rate at a processor when using multiple accounts, or even something as simple as utilizing a backup account.
Allocation can be based on:
» Percentage – In this scenario, the allocation of sales transactions will be set by assigned a percentage to each account assigned in the Setting. The total allocation percentage must be 100%.
» Dollar Amount – Each account will be limited in total dollars by the allocation rule. Accounts will be used in a round robin pattern until each limit is reached. All excess amounts will be assigned to the Default account.
» Sequential Limits – Each account will be limited in total dollars by the allocation rule. With Sequential Limits, accounts are “filled” in sequence based on the Sequence number assigned to the account. All excess amounts will be assigned to the Default account.
» Geo-Location – The allocation of funds is based on the geo location of the consumer. Location of the customer can be determined by one of the following:
   o IP Address
   o Billing Address
   o Shipping Address
With this rule, foreign sales can be routed differently than domestic sales.
» Redirect Failures – Failed transactions can be retried in a different merchant account that may have different processing guidelines.  The accounts will be tried in the sequence setup by the merchant.
» BIN – The allocation of funds is based on the first digits of credit card BIN number
