Transaction key

If we use the same transaction key for multiple merchant accounts with unique payment types (Star Card, Credit Card, ECheck, etc.), will the system route the sale properly?

- No, merchants are not allowed to use the same transaction key for multiple accounts, even if they have different unique payment types. In some cases, for example StarCard merchants and CreditCard merchants, the request may contain the exact same API fields.  

Therefore, the only way to understand the payment type is to check the card issuer by the card number.  If the request has a missing or invalid card number, we will not be able to properly handle the transaction, and form a proper response.
